G. V. Prakash Kumar (Tamil: ஜி. வி. பிரகாஷ் குமார்; born 13 June 1987) is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer. He has mainly scored music for Tamil, while also doing three Telugu films and a Hindi film. His first film was S Pictures' Veyil (2006), winning critical acclaim and he became popular in Tamil cinema by the early 2010.
Career
G. V. Prakash, aged 17, was first signed up to compose the music for Taxi Driver,
a film directed by debutant Morgan featuring Prashanth in early 2005.
However, the film eventually failed to take off and Prakash returned to
his vocalist and technician roles.
Prakash's introduction as a film composer was in the critically acclaimed Tamil film Veyil, directed by Vasantha Balan and produced by the director S. Shankar. He first appeared as a vocalist on the soundtrack of director S. Shankar's Tamil film Gentleman, composed by his maternal uncle, A. R. Rahman. He has also contributed to some of Rahman's other projects. He had also worked with Harris Jayaraj and sang two songs in Anniyan and Unnale Unnale. His music in the film Madrasapattinam directed by A.L.Vijay was appreciated mainly for his song Pookal Pookum Tharunam. He went on to win critical acclaim for his music in Selvaraghavan's drama film Mayakkam Enna,
which became his third collaboration that featured Dhanush in the lead
role. The album's five songs were written by Selvaraghavan and Dhanush,
with the pair also coming together to sing the song, "Kadhal En Kadhal".
The album also included the song "Pirai Thedum", which Prakash sang
himself along with his fiancée, Saindhavi
whilst another song, "Voda Voda Voda", written and sung by Dhanush, was
composed in just 15 minutes and recorded within an hour. Rediff.com
reviewed the soundtrack claiming that Prakash had "tried very hard to
walk away from his comfort zone and provide the kind of edgy numbers
Selvaraghavan demands, and has risen to the challenge". Critics from entertainment portal, Behindwoods.com, cited that Prakash
"reiterates his talent once again" and gave a verdict that the album is
"intoxicating enough". In late September 2011, a single track, "Oru Murai", written by Thamarai and composed and sung by Prakash in R. S. Infotainment's Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal was released.
Family
Prakash Kumar is the son of Venkatesh and playback singer, A. R. Reihana, who is the elder sister to music director A. R. Rahman. Prakash is engaged to singer, Saindhavi. They studied together in Chettinad Vidyashram.
(Nirantharam Nee Oohalo In Telugu) Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (Tamil: முப்பொழுதும் உன் கற்பனைகள்; English: Imagining you, all time) is a 2012 Tamil romantic thriller film directed by Elred Kumar starring Atharvaa and Amala Paul in the lead roles. The music was scored by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Although the film was released on 17 February 2012 to mixed reviews, it was declared to be a super hit.
The film opens with Ram (Atharvaa)
fronting a car driven by two guys apparently drunk and rich and with
their girl friend(s). He tries to kill them and eventually they escape
in the car opening the title. Then it turns to be that Ram enjoys a
successful career in information technology. He is hit by Radhi
(Yashika) as office romance. He turns down her interest and reveals he
is in love with a girl who resides in Bangalore and he is going to visit
her. Ram drives to Bangalore and meets Charu (Amala Paul)
in her apartment. While sleeping, Ram wakes up goes to the streets,
search and kills a person (one of them in the car in first scene).
Eventually its revealed that Charu is in some danger and Ram is
safeguarding her by not letting her out of that apartment until he
cleans up the city for her safety. Ram's CEO Latha (Amala Paul) comes to India from the USA and is also engaged to a guy names Vicky. Latha begins to ask her PA Chandru (Santhanam)
to find out more about Ram. Charu then asks Chandru to convince Ram to
give her lift home, which then ram agrees to. As Ram and Latha are
driving home, they are followed by a red lorry, which attempts to kill
both Ram and Latha. Ram manages to push Latha off the car as well as
saving himself. Ram is seriously hurt and is taken to the hospital by
Latha. Latha then speaks to the doctor, her uncle (Jayaprakash).
Latha explains the doctor that she knows Ram personally and doesn't
understand why Ram doesn't recognize her. Ram being unconscious, begins
to mutter Charu's name. While Ram and Charu's uncle are having a brief
conversation, Latha listens in. It is revealed that Ram and Charu used
to work together for a competition and Ram fell in love with Charu from
the moment that he met her. It came to a situation where Charu goes to a
club to meet a work friend after having found out that her laptop data
had been corrupted and she is unable to reach her work. She goes to the
club to get a USB backup of her laptop data, before having been teased
by drunk guys. These two guys happen to be the two guys Ram tries to
kill at the beginning of the film.
Charu goes to the police station to report the two guys who teased
her, however, the guys did not take this well and threaten Charu. Ram
witnesses this and assumes that there is a problem, however, Charu
ensures Ram that he has nothing to worry about and that everything has
been sorted.
On the day of the competition, Ram and Charu go through their
presentation, to make sure that they have got everything that they need.
Ram looks behind him and notices that he has forgotten something. He
explains to Charu that he needs to go back, but will be back in time for
the competition. Charu being hesitant at first eventually agrees. Ram
went back to get the gift that he has bought Charu, so that he can give
to her when he proposes his love for her, after the competition.
Ram then manages to go the competition venue on time, however, sees
the two guys who teased Charu inside the venue. Ram jumps to the
conclusion that the guys have come after Charu and are here to kill her.
Ram tries to find them however fails. Ram then reaches the balcony
where he witnesses Charu being taken into a car by two guys, which he
assumes are the two teasers. Ram then runs after the car but then loses
the car and is pushed on the side of the road, where he becomes
delusional. He then goes home, and waits for Charu without changing his
clothes or having a shower. He sits in one position for two days. Charu
then comes home safe and sound, and is revealed to the doctor that him
and Charu have been together ever since.
The doctor comes out of the room to see a shocked Latha. Latha then
reveals to her uncle (the doctor) that her family know her as Latha, but
she introduced herself to Ram as Charu, as her name was indeed
Charulatha. Latha then reveals what actually happen; Ram went to get the
present, while she was left to handle the presentation herself, and
ends up winning the whole competition, Her father was a main judge on
the competition and was also revealed that this competition was built to
see how Charu can handle a whole business and would take over from her
father. It was then revealed that Ram would not get a position in this
company at all, and with Charu feeling guilty, she calls after Ram,
which Ram hears and sees. She was taken into the car by her father which
made it look like she was being kidnapped to Ram.
The doctor then persuades Latha to act like the Charu that she was
while living with him. At first she disagrees, however, after Ram gains
his consciousness, Ram receives a call from a so called 'Charu'. Latha
goes back to Bangalore, where she visits the woman who is acting as
Charu to Ram over the phone. It is revealed that a blind woman acts as
Charu, only because Ram keeps calling her and asking about her and
refuses to believe that this isn't Charu's number. Latha then breaks
into her old Bangalore home, and spies on Ram, with her uncle assisting
her. Ram comes home and assumingly hugs a so called Charu. We then
realise that it isn't actually Charu he is hugging, but he is hugging
nothing but an empty space. Latha then asks her uncle what had happened to Ram. Ram is suffering
from severe delusions and is imagining that Charu is still present with
him, hence the reason why Ram didn't recognise her in the first place.
The only way these delusions would go, is if Latha acts as if she was
Charu, back in Banglore.
Latha then acts as Charu and begins falling in love with Ram. Ram
then explains to her that they are going to get married soon. They then
reach a temple, where Charu and Ram are meant to be getting married.
Latha had planned with her uncle and Chandru a fake killing so that
Ram's delusions can leave him, which fails. Latha is then genuinely
kidnapped by two guys, who are her so known fiance's friends. It is
revealed that her fiance Vicky, is in fact gay and his friends can not
accept Vicky getting married to any girl who gets in his way which
includes Latha. The two guys attempt on killing Latha but is defeated by
Ram. Ram then attempts to save Latha by taking her to the hospital but
is then hit on the head. Ram gains his consciousness and goes home and
waits for Charu at home, sitting in a position for two days, waiting for
Charu. The delusion he sees is Charu coming back to him, in tears and
saying that she is alright. Ram bursts into tears and goes to have a
shower so that he can relax and start over with Charu. Latha however is
still in hospital with her father and uncle by her side. Her uncle
reveals that it was him who hit Ram on the head, so that he can take
Latha to the hospital to get her checked out, yet he explains to Charu
that she better of with Ram as he will keep her happy. Latha's father
agrees and Latha insists that she goes to Ram.
Latha then goes home to Ram, who still believes that Charu has come
home long before. The film ends with Latha raising her arms asking for a
hug from Ram, which Ram smiles and gives her.
(Nanna In Telugu)Deiva Thirumagal is a 2011 Tamil drama film written and directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Mohan Natarajan that features Vikram in the lead role as a mentally challenged adult with the maturity of a six-year-old boy, while Baby Sarah, Anushka Shetty, Amala Paul and Nassar portray other pivotal roles. The film comprises director Vijay's 'regular' technical crew with G. V. Prakash Kumar as music composer, Nirav Shah as cinematographer and Anthony as editor. The film has its basic plot and lead character inspired from the 2001 American film I am Sam written and directed by Jessie Nelson, and starring Sean Penn as a father with a developmental disability. The film released on 15 July 2011 along with a dubbed version in Telugu, Nanna, to critical acclaim and box office success. Krishna (Vikram) is mentally retarded and has the mental ability of a six-year old. He lives a peaceful life in the hill station of Ooty. He is cared for by Victor (Krishna Kumar),
the owner of a chocolate factory where Krishna works. One day he
excitedly announces to the village that he will become a father. That
night, his daughter is born, but his wife Banumathy dies during
childbirth. Unable to grasp the concept of death, he simply accepts that
his wife has "gone to God" and starts life as a father. He names his
daughter Nila, and raises her with love and care. She soon grows into a
happy young girl (Sarah). With the help of Victor and his other mentally challenged friends, Krishna enrolls Nila in school.
Nila adjusts herself to school life, and befriends the correspondent Shwetha Rajendran (Amala Paul),
who develops a maternal bond with the girl. But when she learns that
Nila is Krishna's daughter, she refuses to let her stay with him. Soon a
scuffle starts between Krishna and Shwetha's fiancé Karthik (Karthik Kumar). It is broken up by the entry of Shwetha's father Rajendran (Sachin Khedekar)
who reveals that his other daughter was Banumathy, who became estranged
from him by choosing to marry Krishna. He offers to take Krishna and
Nila with him and claims that they are part of his family. Victor agrees
and sends them with Rajendran. At a distance from Chennai,
Rajendran tricks Krishna into exiting the car, and abandons him.
Distraught, Krishna wanders around the city asking passerby where Nila
is. He eventually arrives at a court, where he meets lawyer Vinod (Santhanam)
who assumes that he is rich, and promises him that his boss will defend
him. He introduces him to his boss/colleague Anuradha Ragunathan aka
Anu (Anushka Shetty),
who is hesitant to take up the case as she believes Krishna to be a
lunatic. But soon, Victor arrives and explains Krishna's predicament,
and, moved to tears, Anu agrees to help him.
She files a case against Rajendran, but loses hope when she learns that Rajendran's lawyer is Bashyam (Nassar),
a feared senior lawyer who has never lost a case. The case is then
heard in the high court, with both party arguring to the custody of the
child.
Finally, Bashyam asks Krishna about how he can raise his daughter
then to support her financially. Then after a quick show of
father-daughter connection and affection, Bashyam withdraws and loses
the case voluntarily. Giving Krishna his custody of his daughter, he
then takes her back to Rajendran, so that she will be raised financially
stable and that she can become a doctor when she grows up.

The film is a "Western adventure comedy film" based on Cowboy stories, which is set in the 19th century paying homages to many western Films. The film's shooting commenced in April 2009 and released on 7 May 2010, positive reviews for its story.In Tamil cinema, after the movie ganga, this is a full length cowboy movie being taken after 38 years. The movie was appreciated to be in the standards of an original Italian cowboy movies. The film comically highlights the current world politics.
The town of Jayshankarapuram, home of Tamil-speaking cowboys, is ruled by a one-eyed tyrant Kelakku Kattai (Nasser) (literally "Eastwood"), who rules over other villages as well, is always surrounded by his assistants Pakki (Lakshmi Rai) and Ulakkai. In order to free their town from Kattai's rule, four men (played by Mouli, Ilavarasu, Ramesh Khanna and Vaiyapuri) travel to a neighboring town Sholaypuram to seek out a savior.
There, they encounter Singaram (Lawrence),
a man with a noble heart, who has been sentenced to death for
negligence of duty. The gang saves Singaram from execution and explains
their situation. Singaram learns why he was chosen: the previous marshal
of Jayashankarapuram, the brave Singam (also Lawrence), the only one
who stood up to Kelakku Kattai's tyranny, bore a striking resemblance to
Singaram. Singam disappeared under mysterious circumstances years ago
and the town was left defenseless.
Thus Singaram is brought to the village and passed off as Singam.
Singaram learns to adapt to his new name, learning all of the hero's
skills and tricks. He wins the respect of the village seniors (Delhi Ganesh, Manorama and others), and a girl Baali (Padmapriya) falls for him. Soon he surpasses the original hero's prowess, though initially it is due to dumb luck.
In between the hero’s and the villain’s camp is a Red Indian village
where the tribals are pure vegetarians. With the introduction of this
village, Aathirikesa the leader of the tribal group, his father Rangula,
and his beautiful daughter Thumbi are also introduced.
The gist of the story: The villagers at Jayashankarapuram find a map
that is hidden in their ‘MGR Timesquare’. But it is only one half they
have. They have to find the other half to hunt for treasure that is
preserved and hidden somewhere far away. But the villain, Nasser has
other plans. He negotiates a deal of freeing prisoners in exchange of
the treasure. Does the Marshall Singam along with Sai Kumar, Lakshmi
Rai, Vaiyapurai, Ilavarasu, MS Bhasker and Sams find the treasure?
Madrasapattinam (Tamil: மதராசபட்டினம், Matarācapaṭṭiṉam, English: Madras Town) is a 2010 Tamil period drama film, written and directed by A. L. Vijay. The film stars Arya and Amy Jackson, while Nassar, Cochin Hanifa and Alexx O'Nell play other prominent roles. The film released on July 9, 2010. It received critical acclaim and became commercially successful as well. It was later dubbed into Telugu and released in Andhra Pradesh as 1947: A Love Story.
An elderly English woman Amy Wilkinson (Carole Trangmar-Palmer), almost at her deathbed in London, wants to come down to Chennai in search of a young man Ilam Parithi (Arya) whom she last saw on 15 August 1947 to return a Thali necklace
of his mother, which he gave her as a sign of stating that she belongs
to India and nobody can separate them. However, after a turn of events,
she had married another man from her hometown and thus felt that the thali was no longer her property.
Amy Wilkinson arrives in Chennai with her granddaughter Catherine (Lisa Lazarus),
equipped only with a picture of Parithi that was taken sixty years ago.
Wilkinson interrogates various people about Parithi's whereabouts. In
the process, she recalls the events when she had first visited Chennai,
and the chain of events that took place:
A young Amy (Amy Jackson),
the daughter of the Madras Presidency Governor, visits Chennai (then
called Madrasapattinam) along with her translator Nambi (Cochin Hanifa)
and encounters Parithi, whom she calls "brave man". Parithi, a member
of the dhobi (launderer) clan is also an experienced wrestler who trains
under Ayyakanu (Nassar).
He openly opposes the British officials who attempt to build a golf
course in the dhobi clan's dwelling place. He challenges a cruel racist officer named Robert Ellis (Alexx O'Nell),
who is also Amy's suitor, to a wrestling match to decide the fate of
his clan's home. Parithi is successful, and Ellis vows revenge. Following a series of secret meetings between Parithi and Amy, love
blossoms between them, and Parithi affectionately calls her
"Duraiyamma", a polite term of addressing British women. However a major
threat comes in the form of independence for India on August 15, 1947,
which means that all White officials and their families, including Amy,
would have to leave India. On the eve of independence, all of India is
celebrating. However Amy and Parithi, determined to be together, run
away and are hunted by an angry Ellis and his force. An Indian policeman
helps the two of them by hiding them in a clock tower on top of the
Madras Central Railway Station, but they are discovered by Ellis. After a
fierce fight, Ellis is killed and Parithi is badly wounded. Amy helps
Parithi to escape by casting him with a life-raft into the Cooum river, before she is captured and taken back to London. She had never known if Parithi survived, or what his fate was.
Back in the present, Wilkinson is urgently called back to London to
have a life-saving operation. But she is determined to find Parithi and,
by chance, encounters a taxi driver who assumes that she would want to
visit a charitable trust named Duraiyamma Foundation. The driver shows
her around the foundation, which has organisations providing free
housing, education and medical care (which were all promised to the
dhobi children by the young Amy several years ago). She realizes that
the Duraiyamma Foundation was established by Ilam Parithi, and named
after her.
Then When she asks the driver what became of Parithi, he leads her to
his tomb, and reveals that he died twelve years ago. She kneels before
the tomb and claims the thali necklace as her own. She declares
"It's mine!" before quietly passing away on Parithi's tomb. Her
granddaughter mourns for her, and the taxi driver is dumbfounded to
learn that the old woman was "Duraiyamma" herself. The epilogue shows
Parithi and Amy (as they were in their younger days) in the afterlife,
depicted as a 1940's-style Madrasapattinam. As the credits roll, a
series of montage images are shown, illustrating the transformation of Madrasapattinam of the 1940s to modern-day Chennai.
Angaadi Theru (English: Market Street) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Vasanthabalan, starring debutant Mahesh and Anjali in the lead roles. The title refers to the Ranganathan Street in Chennai where the story plays. The film features music jointly composed by Vijay Antony and G. V. Prakash Kumar. An Ayngaran International production, the film was launched on 11 February 2008 and released on 26 March 2010 to critical acclaim. The film was shortlisted for the Indian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film but lost to Peepli Live. It released in Telugu as Shopping Mall.
Jyothi Lingam (Mahesh) is a bright student and son of a mason who leads a happy life in his village near Tirunelveli.
One day tragedy strikes as his father the only earning member dies in
an accident while crossing an unmanned railway gate, and young boy now
has to look after his mother and two sisters.
Due to circumstances, he is forced to abandon his studies, though he
comes first in his school in the board exam. Through a canvassing agent,
he and his friend Marimuthu, get jobs as sales boys in a textile
showroom in Ranganathan Street in Chennai.
Jyothi, along with hundreds of others, are employed at the Senthil
Murugan Stores run by the big Annachi. In each floor at the textile
showroom, there are around 50 to 60 sales boys and girls who work in
pitiable conditions from early in the morning to late night, without any
rest.
He meets Kani (Anjali), a fiery independent girl. The difficult and
harrowing times in the store bring them together as they face up to a
cruel and lewd store supervisor Karungali (director A Venkatesh), who
beats up the boys and molests the girls when they play around during
duty hours. As Jyothi says there is no escape from the “Jail like”
atmosphere in the shop where employees are treated more like slave
labour in a concentration camp than without any human dignity. Angadi
Theru is about how these two survive in a concentration camp like
condition and what happens when fate perpetually smiles very cruelly at
them.
Sneha lights up the happenings in a small cameo as herself by doing a
commercial advertisement for that Stores. This film is considered to be
a milestone in Tamil cinema due its raw content. This movie is loosely
based on the real happenings at the two Popular Stores in Ranganathan
Street in Chennai
Ananda Tandavam (English: Happy Dance) is a 2009 Tamil-language film adaptation of the Sujatha Rangarajan serialized novel Pirivom Santhippom, directed by A.R. Gandhi Krishna and produced by Oscar V. Ravichandran of Aascar Films. This is one of the love stories by the late author Sujatha.The characters Raghu (Siddharth Venugopal) & Madhumitha (Tamanna Bhatia):
their love story captured so many hearts that writer Sujatha, who had
initially finished the first novel, started the second part due to high
demand from readers.

Story
Raghupathi (Siddarth) is a fresh pass out engineer
who comes to be with his father Govindaraju (Kitti) and there he chances
upon Madhumita (Tamannah) the bubbly and innocent girl who is the
daughter of the Chief engineer. Soon, he falls for her and in no time,
his alliance is fixed with Madhu by her parents. However, when Raghu
goes for a job and comes back on holiday, he discovers that Madhu's
parents have fixed her marriage with Radhakrishna (Rishi) who comes from
the US. Feeling betrayed, Raghu tries to commit suicide but is saved.
He decides to put his past behind and go to the US to pursue his
education. He goes to New York and there he meets the beautiful Rathna
(Rukmini). There, Raghu bumps across Madhu again and meanwhile, Rathna
begins to fall in love with Siddharth. Time passes by and finally the
day comes when Rathna and Siddarth are planning to get engaged but then
Madhu discovers a truth about Radhakrishna and she makes a decision.
What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Tamannah came across as a confused character and her
transition from a innocent and confused girl to a bubbly girl was
alright. Siddarth lacked energy and looked frozen at many places,
Rukmini was beautiful but she needs to add more flesh, Kitty was elegant
and graceful, Charlie was regular. The others did their bit to
contribute, Rishi was okay.
Technical aspects
The dialogues were quite sleazy, the script was
shallow and the screenplay was random. The major flaw in the movie was
the editing which has been done very brutally and amateurishly. There is
no proper connectivity between the scenes and the audience fails to
relish any emotion. Music was alright and two songs can be hummed,
locations were excellent and the cinematography did a fabulous job.
Costumes were good for everyone except the hero who looked duller due to
the pale shades. The art department was quite colorful and exemplary.
Director's portrayal
The director seems to have been confused as to what
he has to convey, though his presentation was alright, the narrative was
pathetic. There were many times when one would feel a strong flavour of
perversion in his narrative. He brought about a very touching storyline
but he was in no position to actually conceive it into a proper movie.
The emotional scenes could have been a lot better but he was not able to
handle the situations very well. A lot of focus was put by him on
covering aspects of relationships after marriage but then it turned out
to be a sham.
Critic's view
The
film is no way connected to the title since it has got more of sadness
and perversion than anything else. The pace of the movie is quite mild
and it goes on at a speed which tests the patience of the audience.
Moreover, the issues and conversations tend to get so dirty at times
that the audience has no choice but to lower their heads in
embarrassment. One did not expect Tamannah to be a part of such debacle
and it must be said that the editing and obscene dialogues have spoiled
the mood of the film.
Verdict
Attempt it if you love tragedies with slow narration.
Jagapatibabu, though popular as family
subjects' hero, had several hit films in other subjects too. He had a
different image. He is a very good performer too and this was proved
with films like 'Hanuman Junction, Gayam, Antahpuram and Samanyudu'.
Once again, director P Vasu chose this hero for a deglamourous role
which maintains a low profile all through the film, but has a lot of
scope for performance. The film explains the value of friendship. The
story runs between a rich man and a poor man and their childhood
friendship. In order to show the richness, the director chose films
which is the most common commodity among the people. People always think
that the heroes would earn lakhs of rupees besides a huge image and
going near them is a difficult task.
Balu (Jagapatibabu) has a small saloon in a village,
which doesn't have the basic requirements like a revolving chair and a
good mirror. He has a wife Sri Devi (Meena) and three children including
two girls. Sri Devi was very accommodative and has an understanding.
However, Balu is unable to make both ends meet with his daily earnings.
He is not in a position to pay his child's school fee. He used to say
that Super Star Ashokkumar (Rajanikanth) was his childhood friend.
Incidentally, Ashokkumar comes to their village for a
20-day outdoor shooting. Balu's children start pestering him to take
them to Ashokkumar, but Balu is quite hesitative as he is not sure
whether Ashokkumar could identify him. If Ashokkumar did not recognise
him, Balu might be necked out and that would be not only an insult to
his friendship, but also Balu would lose the prestige before his family.
At this juncture, the school principal (Gita) comes to Balu and pleads
with him to invite Ashokkumar as chief guest for the silver jubilee
function of the school, which Balu could not.
Somehow, the college management gets the appointment
of Ashokkumar and invite him to the school function. Ashokkumar accepts
their invitation and reels out his experiences in childhood and talks
great about his friend Balu. Did Balu meet Ashokkumar even after
realising that he did not forget him? What Ashokkumar did when he learns
about Balu? Is that lecture at the school function is like filmy
dialogues or did he really remember his friend? Answers to all these
questions form part of climax.
Performance:
Jagapatibabu gave a brilliant and excellent
performance all through the film. Especially, doing such a character,
especially the role of a barber, is great for a hero with some stature.
Moreover, the character was completely deglamorous and had a very low
profile. But Jagapatibabu really lived in the character. His histrionics
and body language were perfect to the core and director was able to
extract all the acting talents from Jagapatibabu.
Meena,
who played opposite Jagapatibabu, also did complete justice to the
role. She appeared on the screen after a long gap, but was good to watch
as the mother of three children. She lost her weight considerable and
appeared glamorous.
Rajanikanth played the real life role in the film. He
maintained his usual style and appeared glamorous in the film. He has
not much scope to perform in many of the scenes in the first half and
most part of the second half as well.
However, it was he who mesmerised the audiences with
his performance in the climax. Veteran playback singer SP
Balasubrahmanyam lent his voice to Rajanikanth. His dialogue modulation
perfectly suited the style of Rajanikanth, especially while delivering
the lecture in a school function, where he narrates the value of
friendship.
Nayanatara also played the real life role in the movie.
Comedy by Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Sunil, Ali, MS
Narayana and others are okay and was able to tickle the funny bone of
the audiences, especially when the movement of the film is giving
boredom.
Technical:
Padma Shri Thota Tarani, who was responsible for
excellent sets for Rajanikant's latest film Sivaji, once again came up
fantastic sets for this film too.
Camera work by Arun Krishna is okay. The most notable
technician for the film after the director is the dialogue writer.
Marudhuri Raja penned dialogues for the film, which are very good and
casual. Dialogues in the climax were quite heart-touching.
Editing
is perfect in the film, as the audiences can't find even a single scene
which is irrelevant and boring. Above all, it is P Vasu who needs
compliments for coming out with another good film. After a blockbuster
like 'Chandramukhi', he came out with another notable film. As was
rightly said by Rajanikant during the preview of the film, such movies
would come very rarely. The director was able to maintain the friendship
thread in a peculiar way. Though the story appears dragging till the
climax, the audiences never feel boredom with occasional and timely
comedy track.
Music by GV Prakash Kumar, the nephew of AR Rahman is
melodious and the audio was a big hit even before the release of the
film. Especially the song penned on the making of a film was worth
listening, with good literary values.
Remark:
Though the hero of the film is Jagapatibabu in
reality, the producer and director chose to highlight Rajanikanth,
keeping in view the saleability of the film. Though Rajanikant appeared
on the screen for less than 45 to 60 minutes, the film made a business
of more than Rs 60 crore, just because of the image of Rajanikanth. The
film proved a tear-jerker in the climax. The audiences who pay a price
of Rs 50 for the ticket would feel satisfied with the last 20 minutes'
of the movie.
(Vesavi in Telugu)Veyil (Tamil: வெயில்) is a 2006 Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Vasanthabalan. Bharath and Pasupathy are the heroes where Bhavana, Priyanka and Sriya Reddy plays the female leads.
The story is told through the protagonist Murugesan (Pasupathy) who recalls his childhood in Virudhunagar town. His father is a butcher who works hard to bring up his four children - two boys and two girls, and has a happy family.
Murugesan dotes on his younger brother Kathir and his weakness, like any other adolescent is love for movies (especially MGR films)
that are screened in a local theatre. But one day life changes for him
when his father catches him red-handed from the theatre after he bunks
school. The child is severely punished. He runs away from home taking
money and jewels.
Along the way Murugesan gets sidetracked from his intended
destination of Chennai by an MGR Movie poster. He's shown watching
several MGR shows, buying a change of clothes and eating a hearty meal
with his ill-gotten money. After spending the night at local temple, he
wakes up to find his money and other possessions missing. Murugesan is
then taken under the wings of a theatre projectionist in a nearby town
and slowly the theatre becomes his home. As an adult, he falls in love
with Thangam (Priyanka),
a beautiful girl who lives opposite the theatre but their love story
does not have a happy ending. Murugesan is crestfallen after Thankam’s
death and takes to the bottle. Sometime later the theatre is demolished,
the owner citing loss of business.
He decides to return home after 20 years. The rest of the film is all
about Murugesan’s mental turmoil, as he is caught between the deep love
showered by his younger brother Kathir (Bharath)
who runs a successful advertising agency and his guilt of not being a
responsible son or elder brother. There is a parallel love story between
Meenakshi (Bhavana), an innocent girl and Kathir. Then there is Pandi (Sriya Reddy) who is Murugesan's childhood sweetheart.The rest of the story is about what happens to Murugesan and Kathir.
Pasupathy is outstanding especially at the later part of the movie.
Being an worthy son he did exactly what was expected of him and proved
all wrong. He sacrificed his own life to bring prosperity to his own
family but not before he killed all the enemies of their family and as a
reward got whatever he wished earlier; to die in the lap of his mother,
to be accepted by his sisters and above all his own father as the elder
son.
Poorna Market is a dubbed version of Tamil movie "Kireedam". In which,
Ajith Kumar and Trisha playing the main lead roles, Raj Kiran playing
the character of Ajith's father, Ajay telugu actor will be playing the
negative role and comedian Vivek playing the role of son-in-law of Raj
Kiran.
Ajith dream is to become police officer as his father, after some instants Trisha enters into his life and Rest of the story

Plot
The movie starts in the late 1980s when a group of friends celebrate their farewell party. They promise each other to keep in touch. Among them are Hanumantha Rao (Tamil actor Prabhu Ganesan), who has a son named Prabha, and Vishwanath (Ahuthi Prasad) who has daughter Nandini. To reach their professional goals, Vishwanath and his daughter travel to Switzerland, while Hanumantha Rao becomes a criminal lawyer and settles in India. Thus, Prabha and Nandini get separated in their childhood. Years later, these old friends call for a reunion where a grown-up Prabha (Prabhas) is eager to see his love Nandini (Kajal Agarwal). But, another girl Nisha (Shraddha Das), daughter of local don (Mukesh Rishi), attempts suicide when Prabha doesn’t accept her love. Her father tries to kill Prabha and his friends but Prabha gets out of trouble by faking a story about his childhood love Nandini.
During the reunion at the farm house of Buchchaiah (Chandra Mohan), Prabha happens to see Nandini. He tries various tantrums to impress her, but in vain. His attempts are always thwarted by her brother. One day, he knowingly gives a lead about his sister's favorite game of Basketball, forcing Prabha and his team to create a Basketball court. As they play basketball, in comes Rishi (Santhosh), as Appala Raju's (M. S. Narayana) son, who gatecrashes into the game as he is cheered by Nandini. Both Rishi and Prabha both vie with each other to impress Nandini, leading to a cold war between them. Meanwhile, Prasanna, daughter of Buchchaiah, confesses to Prabha that she was in love with a man and she would marry him if she could pay a dowry of 50 lakhs, and she forces Prabha to talk to her father into marrying off her to her boyfriend. Prabha is able to convince Buchchaiah about his daughter's marriage with the help of his father and his friends. Impressed by his managing skills, Nandini too begins to like Prabha.
Jealous of Nandini's liking for Prabha, Rishi's friends try to paralyse Prabha by misconnecting the power cable of an iron box. Hanumantha Rao, unaware of their conspiracy, accidentally touches the iron box and gets an electric shock, leading to a scuffle between Prabha and Rishi. The fight results in Hanumantha Rao ejecting Prabha out of the house. Later, Prabha finds out that Rishi is not Appala Raju's son, but the nephew of Vishwanath. Vishwanath betrayed his father (Kota Srinivasa Rao) by marrying his girlfriend rather than the girl chosen by his father. As a result, he is ousted by his father. Hanumantha Rao, on behalf of Viswanath negotiates with his father for a reconciliation. After many attempts, he agrees to forgive Viswanath but on the condition that his daughter's son should marry Nandini. Prabha decides not to reveal his love for Nandini and makes up his mind to leave. As Prabha tries to leave, Nandini reveals that she too loves him. But to save his father's reputation, he doesn't reveal his love to her and leaves the place leaving Nandini heartbroken. Nisha's father too realizes the truth that the story that Prabha had said was a lie, and tries to kill Prabha. Meanwhile, Nandini gets to know the truth behind Prabha's silence and convinces her father that she loves Prabha and he should get her married to Prabha. Prabha is rescued from Nisha's father in time by Nandini, who urges Nisha's father to spare Prabha as both of them love each other. The film ends with Prabha and Nandini getting married.

Plot
Dhanalakshmi a.k.a. Dhana (Sneha Ullal) is the lone daughter of a landlord who has over Rs 50 crore property. As she lost her mother in her childhood, her father marries another woman (Kavitha). However, Dhana faces neglect from her stepmother. After Dhana's father passes away, there is no one to console her and the only friend who showed affection was Balaji. (There is one scene where he rescues her from a snake) He too leaves her after she completes her Class X. After Dhana grew up, she bequeaths her father's property and her mother eyes it and wanted to marry Dhana against her wishes. So Dhana escapes from house and takes shelter in her friend's house in Hyderabad. Aravind (Yasho Sagar), son of a garage owner, who moves like a vagabond with friends sans any responsibility. He comes across Dhanalaxmi and loses his heart to her. However, after a few encounters, Dhana gets caught by her stepmother and when she was about take her away, Aravind helps her from the abduction with the help of police. This makes Dhana to befriend with Aravind and she reveals her childhood friendship and tells Aravind that she is in love with Balaji and can't imagine any other in his place. After refusal, Aravind decides to go to Kolkata in search of a job and at the same time, Dhana also comes to know that Balaji is in Kolkata. They both again meet in train and accidentally Dhana misses the train during the journey. So Aravind helps her reach Kolkata to meet her childhood friend Balaji. In the process, Aravind gets severely hurt in the hands of a criminal, who tries to implicate Dhana in a narcotics case. Later, Aravind takes Dhana to Balaji's house in Kolkata. Dhana's stepmother also reaches Kolkata and agrees for Dhana's marriage with Balaji. When the marriage was about to take place, Dhana realises that her stepmother enacted a drama and created a fake Balaji to impress Dhana. Again Aravind comes to her rescue and at that time Dhana realises that she was in love with Aravind and the film ends on a happy note with the success of love between Dhana and Aravind.

He first appeared as a vocalist on the soundtrack of director S. Shankar's Tamil film Gentleman, composed by his maternal uncle, A. R. Rahman. He has also contributed to some of Rahman's other projects. He had also worked with Harris Jayaraj and sang two songs in Anniyan and Unnale Unnale. His music in the film Madrasapattinam directed by A.L.Vijay was appreciated mainly for his song Pookal Pookum Tharunam.
