A. Karunakaran (Born: 1961) is a Telugu film director.
Before entering Telugu Film Industry, his parents forced him to join polytechnics. After finishing polytechnics in 1989, he went to Chennai. Instead, he became Cinema assistant director to other eminent directors such as Kathir, Shankar and started loving cinema as his career.
Karunakaran's first directorial film in 1998 was Tholi Prema starring Pawan Kalyan. Vasu followed, and then subsequent films Yuvakudu, Balu ABCDEFG, Happy, Darling, and recently, Endhukante Premanta. He made a cameo appearance in the movie Tholi Prema.
