It stars Sudeep, Samantha and Nani. M. M. Keeravani composed the film's music while K. K. Senthil Kumar handled cinematography and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao helmed the editing. The state of the art Visual effects were supervised by Rahul Venugopal, Adel Adili and Pete Draper. The film's Telugu and Tamil version along with a dubbed Malayalam version released with over 1200 prints. Upon release, it received rave reviews and was an unusual and overwhelming success. The movie has also earned a place as one of the all time best earners in overseas markets.

Plot

Nani (Nani) is a young man who makes fireworks. He lives in a house opposite Bindu (Samantha), who is a micro artist and who also runs Project 511, an NGO. Nani is in in love with Bindu for two years and has been constantly showing his love for Bindu. Bindu too loves Nani back but plays hard to get and hides her love from him.

Sudeep (Sudeep) is a multi-millionaire industrialist who also happens to be a womaniser. He had even killed his wife for her money. One day, Bindu goes to Sudeep's office to see if he would like to donate money to her NGO. Sudeep is about to send her away, until he sees Bindu through the opening of his office door. He immediately lusts for her, and calls her into his office. Bindu, not knowing of Sudeep's true intentions, tells him all about her NGO, who donates INR 15 lakhs to it. Bindu thanks Sudeep, who asks her out to lunch.

At the restaurant, Bindu sees Nani and his friends installing fireworks across the street. Sudeep notices that Bindu keeps staring at Nani and becomes jealous. Later, when Sudeep and Bindu stop at a market, Nani also comes and walks with Bindu. Sudeep follows them the whole time. That night, Bindu works late and she needs an escort to go home, so she calls Nani who comes to her office and walks her home. At this point, Nani gives Bindu an idea to help finish a necklace she was working on and Bindu is finally ready to confess her love towards Nani. But just in front of Bindu's doorstep, and just after dropping her home, Sudeep kidnaps Nani and takes him to a graveyard, where he beats him mercilessly. He tells Nani that he loves Bindu. Nani tells Sudeep that if he goes anywhere near Bindu, he will kill him. At this, Sudeep strangles Nani to death, right after Bindu tells Nani she loves him through a text and a phone call. Upon hearing that Bindu loves him too, Nani dies. But then, he is reborn as a fly.

After getting used to his new life as a fly, and experimenting with his new abilities, Nani ends up in Sudeep's office. After he sees Sudeep, Nani remembers his past life and wants to take revenge on Sudeep for what he had done. He keeps following Sudeep around, irritating him to the core. Meanwhile, Bindu is grieving the death of Nani, and Sudeep is still trying to make Bindu love him.

One day, Sudeep calls Bindu to her office and asks her to come to Delhi with him to meet the Education Minister, who is planning to nationally recognise Bindu's NGO. Bindu agrees. Nani notices this and causes Sudeep to meet with an accident while he is driving to the airport. Sudeep, lying injured in his wrecked car, sees Nani write the words "I will kill you". From that point, Sudeep starts fearing Nani the fly, becomes paranoid about it and tries all means to ensure Nani does not enter his house.

Later, Nani arrives at Bindu's house, who is still thinking about him. Nani uses Bindu's tears on her desk to write out the words, "I am Nani". He then shows Bindu that it was Sudeep who killed him, and that he was reborn as a fly. Bindu realises Sudeep's true nature and teams up with Nani the fly, using her skills as a micro artist to make Sudeep's life a living hell. Bindu discreetly allows Nani to enter Sudeep's house, and Nani wreaks havoc on him, including burning all of his wealth. A terrified Sudeep then consults Tantra, a sorcerer, who tells him that Nani, whom he had killed, was reborn as a fly and is planning to kill him. Tantra performs a 'homa' in Sudeep's house to kill Nani. But Nani escapes and causes a short circuit, leaving Tantra dead and Sudeep unconscious.

Next morning, Sudeep regains consciousness and finds out that Bindu and Nani are working together to kill him by seeing a CCTV video in which Bindu allowed Nani in his house. Enraged, Sudeep brings Bindu to his house and starts abusing her. He also clips Nani's wings and stabs it with a needle. A dying Nani then sacrifices its life by jumping through a lighted matchstick, inflaming itself and entering a loaded cannon, which fires up and kills Sudeep.

Bindu, grieving the fly's death, makes a necklace using the only remainder of Nani the fly- its wing. While going to work, an eve-teaser abuses her, only for a fly to attack him. This fly is none other than Nani, reborn again as a fly, to protect his love Bindu forever.

Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu

Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu (Telugu: ఎటో వెళ్లిపోయింది మనసు) is a forthcoming Telugu romance film written and directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Nani and Samantha in the lead roles. The film, featuring film score and soundtrack composed by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by M. S. Prabhu, is also being simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi as Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau. Singer Chinmayi will be providing the speaking voice for the female lead. It is scheduled to be released in Summer 2012.

Production

In January 2011 producer Bellamkonda Suresh announced that he had signed on Gautham Menon, Ram and Samantha for his next production, a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, citing that the filming would begin from May 2011. In late September 2011, Ram was replaced with Nani, as the former walked out of the film due to unknown conflicts. Nani had previously worked in Gautham Menon's production Veppam. Menon's "regular crew" of editor Anthony and cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa were part of both films. Although A. R. Rahman was reported to compose the music, sources indicated that he would not work for this film, owing to his other commitments. Menon clarified that he never announced any music director for the film and that he wanted to keep it as a surprise. In January 2012, Ilaiyaraaja was revealed to be the composer.


Initially planned to be a bilingual, Menon decided to shoot the film in three languages simultaneously, with Samantha being retained in all three versions. The film was set to be titled Nithya, after Samantha's character in the film, but was eventually named as Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, inspired by a song from the 1996 film Ninne Pelladutha.
 Filming began on August 29, 2011 with a photo shoot held along with the Tamil version.The teaser of the film is released on February 14 on the occasion of Valentine's Day

Sega

Veppam (Tamil: வெப்பம்; English: Heat) is a 2011 Indian Tamil action thriller written and directed by newcomer Anjana Ali Khan, starring Nani, Karthik Kumar, Bindu Madhavi and Nithya Menen. The story narrates events from the slum areas of Chennai, showcasing characters and their struggles. The film, jointly produced by Gautham Menon's Photon Kathaas and R. S. Infotainment, had been in production for over one year. The film released on 29 July 2011, while a dubbed Telugu version, titled Sega, released simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh. Veppam received mixed critical response upon release.

Plot

The film is set in a slum in Chennai. Balaji (Muthukumar)'s mother dies and his father Jothi (Shimmore), a drunkard, leaves him on the streets. He works hard and ensures a decent living for his younger brother Karthik (Nani). Karthik, who studies in an engineering college, spends all his time with his friend Vishnu (Karthik Kumar), who is also brought up in the locality. There is Revathy (Nithya Menen) in the neighbourhood, who loves Karthik.
Jothi takes to illegal ways and makes money working for a drug peddler Ammaji (Jennifer). Knowing that Vishnu is in love with Viji (Bindu Madhavi), a call girl in the locality, Jothi decides to exploit him for his selfish gain. He gives him an assignment - to transport drugs to Pondicherry, promising to give him Viji if he completes the work. Vishnu takes the help of Karthik and leaves for Pondicherry. However sensing that something is fishy, Vishnu returns to Chennai. What follows next is the story of 'Veppam'.

Production

Veppam was shot in 46 days. Since the story was set in Chennai, it was mostly filmed in and around Chennai, with songs being canned in Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry and Kodaikanal.Anjana revealed that the story revolves around three friends - two boys and one girl - from the slums, played by Nani, Karthik Kumar and Nithya Menen, respectively, with Bindu Madhavi playing the role of a call girl. Nani and Bindu Madhavi had acted in several Telugu films before and would make their Tamil film debut through Veppam. The film was also supposed to be Nithya Menen's debut Tamil film, however due to the long delay in production, it would become her second Tamil release after 180. Nani and Nithya had starred together in the Telugu sleeper hit Ala Modalaindi (2011), which prompted the makers to dub and release the film in Telugu as well. Anjana had initially signed up with another producer, but since the project failed to take off, director Gautham Menon, under whom she had worked as an assistant director, stepped in and took over the production. Produced under approximately US$550,000, the film's domestic theatrical rights were sold for US$600,000, while the television rights, international theatrical rights and the rights to the Telugu dubbed version had been sold for a total of US$270,000.

Bheemli Kabadi Jattu

Bheemli Kabadi Jattu is a 2010 Indian Telugu-language film written by newcomer Tatineni Satya, starring Nani, and Saranya Mohan along with numerous newcomers. It is a remake of the Tamil film Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu which starred Vishnu Vishal, Kishore and Saranya Mohan along with numerous other newcomers in the lead roles.
This Film marks the directorial debut of Tatineni Satya. This film completed 100 days in Srikakulam town Keerthika & Chandramahal theatres and great hit.

Story

The entire story unfolds in a remote village near Vizag called Bheemli. What begins as a soft romance between a poor lad Suri (Nani) and a young girl (Saranya Mohan) who comes to the village soon takes a turn. Suri, along with his childhood friends, yearns to win a Kabaddi tournament. They're known for never managing to win a tournament.
They manage to find themselves by chance in a State-level tournament, expected to be knocked out in the very first round. But the bunch of young men who share different thoughts and ideas, with the help of a professional kabbadi coach, emerge as winners. As they proceed, many difficulties are encountered such as Suri having a shoulder dislocation during a match. However, they win all their remaining games and progress to the final. However, during this time, gangsters are searching for Suri.
The final starts off poorly, but after half time, Bheemli Kabadi Jattu is back in contention. As the game ends in a tie, a player from each team goes up individually against each other. In the final stages of the head-to-head, Suri wins the game but dies after winning the last point.
The scene changes to several months later when the young girl returns to the place they met, and is searching for Suri.

Nani

Naveen Kumar Ghanta, better known by his stage name Nani is an Indian film actor who mainly stars in Telugu films. After his education, he became an assistant director and worked with Srinu Vaitla and Bapu, before working as a RJ for World Space Satellite in Hyderabad. An advertisement, featuring him, led to his first acting assignment in Ashta Chamma. Since then, Nani has appeared in half-a-dozen films, including one Tamil film.

Career

Nani was born and brought up in Hyderabad. He did his schooling from St. Alphonsus, Hyderabad and studied in Narayana Junior College, S.R.Nagar. He graduated from Wesley’s. He says that it was during his graduation, that he got "addicted to movies", citing Maniratnam as a big influence on him. He wanted to become a director; thanks to producer Anil, who was a distant relative of his, Nani could join director Bapu as a "clap director" for the film Radha Gopalam that Anil was producing at that time. He then worked for films including Allari Bullodu, Dhee and Asthram.
Nani took a sabbatical to work on a film script. Nandini Reddy, a friend of him who was then working as a radio jockey for World Space Radio, offered Nani a work as an RJ. He accepted and worked for one year at World Space, becoming popular as "Non-Stop Nani". He was offered the film Ashta Chamma also starring Swati Reddy, when the film's director Mohan Krishna Indraganti noticed him in an advertisement. His second film Ride was produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.
His first release in 2011 Ala Modalaindi was a romantic comedy written and directed by Nandini Reddy. The film turned out be a super hit and became a critical success. Nani's performance in the film received positive reviews, with critics noting that he was "completely natural" and "living [his] role". Nani is currently shooting for two Telugu films, S. S. Rajamouli's live action project Eega and Gautham Menon's Yeto Velli Poyindhi Manasu, both starring him opposite Samantha.

Ashta chamma

Ashta Chamma (Telugu: అష్టా చమ్మా) is a critically acclaimed 2008 Indian comedy film written and directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti. Filmed in Telugu, the film deals with four quirky characters interwoven in a romantic narration. The film stars Colours Swathi, Nani, Srinivas Avasarala and Bhargavi in the lead with Tanikella Bharani in a supporting role. The film's idea is similar to that of The Importance of Being Earnest.
The movie starts with a small introduction that all the female fans of actor Mahesh Babu were "angry" on him when he got married. Even the heroine is one of them, though she is a die hard fan. Although her aunt (Jhansi) keeps telling her that it's not possible to get her married to Mahesh she pays no heed and stays depressed for days. Finally, she compromises with her aunt by demanding that her husband's name must be Mahesh. Her aunt relents and starts the search for the groom, though in vain.
Her neighbor, Anand, helps the heroine by searching a seemingly perfect "Mahesh". He becomes friends with him and sees that Mahesh is a classy, handsome guy. Soon, the neighbor introduces the two and the couple seem destined to be together forever—until the twists come with a new heroine, her relationship with "Mahesh" and his past. If their love lasts forever forms the rest of the story.

Ala Modalaindi

Ala Modalaindi (Telugu: అలా మొదలైంది) (Meaning : That's how it started) is a 2011 Indian Telugu romantic comedy film written and directed by Nandini Reddy under the Sri Ranjith Movies banner. It stars Nani and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The film was released on January 21, 2011. The film opened to favorable reviews by critics and turned out to become a super hit, and successfully completed 100 days.

STORY

Ala Modalaindi begins with an accident. Gautham (Nani) is abducted by John Abraham (Ashish Vidyarthi). On the way Gautham is forced to narrate his tale as Gautham talks of stopping a marriage and John too talks of preventing a wedding. Hence, the flashback.
Gautham (Nani) is ready to propose to Simran (Kriti Kharbanda) with a bunch of red roses. But destiny has other plans.
Elsewhere, Nithya (Nitya Menen) is playing cricket and hits Gautham with her shot. He is then taken to the hospital in the stretcher. Here there's a twist. Simran falls in love with the doctor treating Nani and they get married in six months. Gautham goes to the wedding but cannot face Simran. When he walks out, he gets drunk and meets a drunk Nithya who actually was in love with the doctor. Later on, Gautham accompanies her everywhere. He realises he's in love with her. But it's not as simple as it seems. She's in love with someone else. The process takes a twisted and curvy route. And the audience too goes on that bouncy ride too.

Pilla Zameendar

Pilla Zameendar (Telugu: పిల్ల జమీందార్: Conditions Apply) is a 2011 Telugu-language comedy film written and directed by G. Ashok, produced by D. S. Rao and Master Bujji Babu under Sri Shailendra Cinemas banner and starring Nani, Haripriya, Bindu Madhavi and Srinivas Avasarala in lead roles. The film soundtrack was composed by Indian percussionist and composer Selvaganesh. Cinematography was handled by Sai Sriram and editing was done by Praveen Pudi. Dialogues of the film were written by popular writer Chandrashekar Gundimeda and screenplay was handled by G. Ashok. Pilla Zamindar was released on 14 October 2011.

STORY

Praveen Jayaramaraju aka PJ(Nani) is the grandson of a wealthy zamindar Pedda Ramaraju(Nagineedu). PJ is an irresponsible and an arrogant youngster who is spoilt by the pampering and excessive money. His grandfather writes a will with several conditions before he dies. His will states that PJ would inherit the entire wealth only if he would completes his graduation as a common man without any luxuries. PJ now has to not only complete his degree course but he must do it within three years and he should study in a government college in a small village called Siripuram. The will also states that PJ needs to stay in a hostel in siripuram and manage living with a very little money. He goes to the village and meets the warden of the hostel Rajanna (Rao Ramesh). He begins adapting to the situations ad changes his lavish lifestyle. He starts to understand the value of life and human beings. He becomes good friends with Kanna Babu(Srinivas Avasarala), Jaatheeyam(Dhanraj), Maqbool("Tagubothu" Ramesh) and others. Months after he joins the college, another condition of his grandfather is revealed. According to the will, PJ needs to be elected as student union president of the college. During his struggle to live there and fulfill the conditions set by his grandfather his transformation from arrogance to humility appeals to the villagers and students. Meanwhile, He falls in love with Sindhu (Hari Priya). It is revealed that the true purpose and reason behind his grandfather's conditions was because of PJ's father. PJ's father married against the wishes of Pedda Ramaraju. As a result, he was deprived of the property. However Pedda Ramaraju realizes his mistake after his son and daughter-in-law(PJ's Mother) are killed in an accident. Pedda Ramaraju to not let his grandson too to go in his son's way and to make him understand the meaning of true happiness, he writes the will. PJ succeeds in fulfilling the conditions laid down by his grandfather and he also transforms into a good person. He also risks his entire property to help Kanna Babu survive a fatal disease, which Kanna Babu eventually does.
