Plot

Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon is the story of Sanjana (played by Kareena Kapoor), a girl of today's generation full of life. She lives life on her own terms and gets very upset when her mother Susheela (Himani Shivpuri) arranges for her to see a boy leading to a marriage prospect. Roopa, the eldest daughter, shows Sanjana's photos to Prem's mother who instantly approves of her. She eventually meets Prem Kishen (Hrithik Roshan).

At first she cannot stand him, but eventually they fall in love. Her parents are happy that Sanjana likes him, but suddenly Roopa e-mails to tells them that Prem could not make it so they sent someone else.

Sanjana's confused parents find out that the boy who is here is not the rich N.R.I. Prem whom Sanjana was meant to meet. He is Prem Kishen, an employee in Prem Kumar's company. It gets even worse when the real Prem Kumar (played by Abhishek Bachchan) arrives to meet Sanjana. The meddling mother ousts Prem Kishen, though the father (played by Pankaj Kapoor) has reservations because he sees how much Sanjana and Prem are in love. Prem Kumar likes Sanjana instantly and Sanjana can't believe how much she has in common with him, but Sanjana is now inseparable from Prem Kishen, her true love. He returns to Sundarnagar and reveals during the family photo that his boss is going to get married with his beloved Sanjana.

Trouble ensues; a marriage is decided for Sanjana and Prem Kumar with Prem Kumar's mother's (Reema Lagoo) blessing. Prem Kishen's loyalty to his boss and his boss' happiness forces him to leave and let the marriage go on. Sanjana finally meets her soulmate when Prem Kumar learns the reality and reunites Sanjana and Prem Kishen.

Plot

Raj Khanna (Hrithik Roshan), Pooja Sahani (Rani Mukerjee) and Tina Kapoor (Kareena Kapoor) are childhood friends. While Raj has always been attracted to the vivacious Tina, he is completely unaware of the quiet Pooja's love for him.

Raj's father (Kiran Kumar) decides to move to England with his family to take up a new job, so Raj has to go away from his friends. He makes Tina promise to write to him via e-mail. But Tina soon becomes occupied with other things, so it's the loyal Pooja who writes to Raj; but she always signs with Tina's name to help Tina keep her promise. Raj and Pooja have many things in common, and their e-mails bring them very close to each other. A decade and a half later, Raj returns to India for a short vacation. By now, he's in love with the girl he has been writing to, and believes he can recognise her at first sight.

When the three of them finally meet, Raj, to Pooja's disappointment, completely ignores her and is besotted with Tina, who is as vivacious as ever. However, during the two weeks of his vacation, he cannot help but notice that the real Tina is completely different compared to the Tina he knew from the e-mails. He also starts to like Pooja, without realising she is the one he is really in love with.

He returns to London, where Pooja coincidentally arrives for an interview, and there he discovers that it was Pooja who wrote all the letters. They confess their love for each other and decide to get married, but fate plays an unexpected trick on them. Back in India, Tina's father (Sachin Khedekar) has died, leaving Tina all alone in the world. By now, she is in love with Raj as well.

Pooja now refuses to marry Raj, since she does not want to break Tina's heart. Raj is the only one Tina has left now. Raj's parents also agree to the marriage, but Raj wants to tell them that he really loves Pooja. Pooja however, still refuses to marry Raj and so he angrily vows to her that he will only marry Tina if Pooja marries someone else on the same day.

Enter a friend of Raj, Rohan Verma (Uday Chopra). Rohan is greatly attracted to Pooja and the families are all for the match. Pooja bows to the inevitable and agrees to marry Rohan on the same day as Raj and Tina. That way, she hopes to satisfy Raj's condition and ensure Tina's happiness. Rohan realises something is wrong and that Pooja does not love him, but keeps up the charade nevertheless. On the day of the marriage, Tina realises that Raj is really in love with Pooja, so she gives him up and finally Pooja and Raj get married.

Plot

Raj Singh Puri is best friends with L.K. Malhotra who is the younger brother of J.K. Malhotra. The brothers are business tycoons and Raj works in their company.

Raj has three daughters. Their mother, Shalini Singh Puri, died from being hit by a car while shopping. The first one, Avantika, gets married through arrangement. The second one, Sania, marries her lover, even though Raj said the family will not fit with their lifestyle and how they're brought up. The last, Isha, doesn't believe in love. After a few weeks at her in-laws, the second daughter (Sania) returns home asking for divorce. After this, Raj becomes strictly against love and relationships.

All this changes when Isha falls in love with the heir to the Malhotra empire, Ronit, L.K. Malhotra's son. They ask for Raj's blessing; he bluntly refuses. Isha understandingly shuns her relationship with Ronit. Raj arranges for Ronit to be married to the daughter of another tycoon. Isha agrees and makes him promise that he won't do anything, and would listen to his parents, but deep down she still has really strong feelings for him. Ronit is unhappy, goes along with the promise, and makes Raj realise that his fiancée's family is not right for them. Raj approaches the Malhotras to break off the engagement. J.K. Malhotra shuns him by calling him poor and small. The other Malhotras join forces to make J.K. to realise his mistake and Ronit is finally married to Isha. At the end of the movie, Raj is still living in his farmhouse with his daughters and their husbands.

Plot

Jenny Nayar (Shahana Goswami), an employee of the London-based company Barron Industries, introduces a new technology at a conference. The technology allows objects from the digital world to enter the real world through wireless transmissions. Shekhar Subramanium (Shahrukh Khan), a game designer who also works for the company and has delivered a spate of commercial failures, is given a final chance to devise a video game which will actually succeed. In order to impress his sceptical son Prateek (Armaan Verma), and upon the request of his wife Sonia (Kareena Kapoor), Subramanium uses his son's idea that the antagonist should be more powerful than the protagonist.

Shekhar's work colleague Akashi (Tom Wu) provides the movements of the game characters, while Jenny designs the game's program. She uses Shekhar's face as a model for that of the game's protagonist (G.One), while the antagonist (Ra.One, Full: Random Access Version One[ri 1]) is faceless. Each player possesses a H.A.R.T, a special device which gives the characters their powers. The game, titled "Ra.One," has three levels. Either of the players can be killed only in the third level with a special gun that holds only one bullet, with the condition that the player has his H.A.R.T attached. When tests are conducted, Akashi notices peculiarities in the game but ignores them. When the game is officially launched, it receives a standing ovation from the audience; Prateek is so enamored by the game that he insists on playing it immediately. He logs in under the alias "Lucifer" and proceeds to the second level, but is interrupted by Akashi. Ra.One, unable to end his turn with Lucifer and angry that a player has proceeded so far, becomes determined that Lucifer will die.

Ra.One uses the technology introduced at the beginning of the film to enter the real world, a process which causes the mainframe to malfunction. Akashi informs Shekhar of the problem; the latter partially understands the situation. Fearful of his son's life, he rushes home. Meanwhile, Ra.One kills Akashi and assumes his form; he then goes to find Lucifer, and meets Shekhar in the process. In an attempt to save his son, Shekhar claims that he is Lucifer. However, Ra.One scans Shekhar's I.D. and kills him for lying. After Shekhar's funeral, Sonia tells Prateek that the family will return to India. Later, Prateek notices digital patterns left on the scene of his father's death, and realises that Ra.One has come to life. He and Jenny attempt to bring G.One to life in a manner similar to Ra.One. Ra.One chases the family on their way to the airport, but G.One enters the real world through Jenny's computer and causes a gas explosion which temporarily destroys Ra.One. G.One takes Ra.One's H.A.R.T. and accompanies the family to Mumbai, after Sonia realises that she cannot leave him. G.One promises to Sonia that he will protect Prateek from harm. Subsequently, Ra.One returns to life, takes the form of a billboard model (Arjun Rampal), and goes after G.One and Prateek.

At Prateek's birthday party, Ra.One hypnotises Sonia, assumes her form and kidnaps Prateek. Ra.One then instructs G.One to give him his H.A.R.T. back, and sends the real Sonia in a Mumbai Suburban Railway train. The train crashes into the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus and destroys it, but G.One saves Sonia just before the crash. He returns to save Prateek, and consequently resumes the game in the virtual world, with Prateek controlling him. After a series of fights, both the characters reach the third level. With little power left, G.One and Prateek trick Ra.One into shooting G.One without his H.A.R.T. attached. Since only one bullet was available, Ra.One is left helpless; furious, he creates ten copies of himself. Prateek, unable to differentiate the real Ra.One, asks G.One to quote Shekhar: "बुराई संग जो मेल रचाया, फिर कभी न छूटे उसका साया" ("If you join the forces of evil, its shadows shall always follow you"). The pair realise that only one of the ten Ra.Ones has a shadow: the original one. G.One shoots and destroys him, absorbs Ra.One's remains and finally disappears. Six months later, Prateek and Sonia return to London, where the former finally manages to restore G.One to the real world.

Plot

Yashvardhan "Yash" Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan) is a rich businessman, living in New Delhi with his wife Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) and his two sons, Rahul and Rohan. The elder son, Rahul is adopted whilst Rohan is their biological son. As a result, Rahul feels indebted to his parents when he finds out (at the age of eight) about his adoption. As an adult, Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) falls in love with Anjali Sharma (Kajol), a girl belonging to a lower social standing than him, against the wishes of Yash, who wants him to marry Naina Kapoor (Rani Mukerji). Rahul, however, rebels and marries Anjali, following which Yash disowns Rahul as his son. Disheartened, Rahul leaves for London with his wife. Nandini sends Sayeeda (Farida Jalal), Rahul and Rohan's nanny, after Rahul to take care of him. Meanwhile, Rohan is sent to a boarding school, as per family tradition.

Ten years later, a grown-up Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) finds out the truth about Rahul's disappearance. He asks his parents to let him go to London to attend graduate school; but he does so in order to conspire with Anjali's sister, Pooja "Poo" Sharma (Kareena Kapoor) to bring his brother back home. Poo informs Rahul that Rohan is her friend's cousin who has shifted from India to London to pursue his studies and needs a place to stay. Rahul reluctantly agrees to let him live with them. When Rahul eventually finds out about Rohan's identity, Rohan begs of him to return home. Rahul refuses, as he believes that Yash does not love him. Poo, however, believes that Rahul will go back home, so she encourages Rohan to invite his parents over to London and arrange for them to meet Rahul. Once in London, Nandini and Rahul share a happy reunion. But Rahul refuses to talk to his father. Meanwhile, Yash finds out about the conspiracy and is furious with Rohan. He and Nandini, however, return to India due to the sudden death of his mother (Achala Sachdev).

Rahul, who also joins Yash and Rohan during the funeral service, agrees to return home for one visit to meet his mother, on the insistence of Rohan and Poo. Once there, Yash expresses his guilt for disowning his elder son, and adds that Rahul was foolish enough for believing that his father did not love him. The film ends with an elaborate wedding ceremony of Rohan and Poo, in which the entire family participates.

Plot

The film opens with Emperor Chandragupta Maurya giving away all his material possessions and taking a sanyasa. His grandson, prince Asoka, claims his grandfather's sword. The Emperor explains that the sword is in fact a demon that, whenever unsheathed, craves blood without regard to friend or foe. He throws away the sword but the prince recovers and unsheathes it whereupon it (accidentally) slashes a couple of birds on a tree.

The film then takes us a few years ahead. Prince Asoka (Shahrukh Khan), now a brave youth, is battling the chief of Takshila. His general informs him that reinforcements have not arrived. Asoka figures out that his half-brother Susima (Ajith Kumar) has deliberately withheld them but, despite that, he wins using shrewd guerilla tactics to defeat the enemy. Asoka identifies readily with harsh battle conditions and derives pleasure from victory and death to his enemies.

Upon Asoka's victorious return to Magadha, a second atthe duel, Asoka's mother, Queen Dharma, compels the prince to renounce his right and leave the kingdom to lead the life of a common man. The brave prince is naturally disappointed, but he accedes to his mother's wishes and leaves.

In his travels, Asoka meets a lovely maiden Kaurwaki (Kareena Kapoor) and falls in love with her. Soldiers from the neighboring kingdom of Kalinga are chasing her and her little brother Arya. They are on the run along with their faithful general Bheema (Rahul Dev). After saving their lives, Asoka introduces himself as Pawan thus hiding his true identity. Kaurwaki and Arya are the princess and prince of Kalinga, who fled from their kingdom when the Prime Minister assassinated their parents.

Asoka and Kaurwaki get married but their union is short lived as Asoka receives word that his mother is unwell. He rushes to Magadha only to find that his mother is quite well and has discovered the conspiracy to remove him from power. The King dispatches Asoka to quell a rebellion in Ujjain. Asoka obeys but first returns to find Kaurwaki. Not able to find her, and not knowing she has gone into hiding, he is informed by Bheema that they were slaughtered and shows him the remains of someone else instead. A heart broken Asoka attempts suicide, but is saved by Viraat (Danny Denzongpa), who on learning his true identity swears to protect him from all threats.

Mad with grief and anger, Asoka embarks on a violent campaign of conquest to seek death. He fights with cold-blooded rage and without desire for his own life yet wins one battle after the next. News of his exploits travels to Magadha and Susima sends soldiers to assassinate him fearing that Asoka's popularity might cost him the throne. However Asoka is saved in the nick of time by Viraat and taken to a Buddhist monastery to recover.

There he meets a Buddhist maiden, Devi (Hrishita Bhatt), who cares for him. Even here, Susima's spies attempt to assassinate Asoka. In an attempt, Devi accidentally kills the assassin, and in Buddhist tradition, no one will now accept Devi as a wife. Asoka marries Devi in return and returns in splendor to Magadha.

At this point, Susima and his brothers are wild with anger regarding their futile attempts to eliminate Asoka. They make their last political move, bribing the court astrologer to murder Devi (pregnant with Asoka's children now). The plot fails and Queen Dharma is killed instead. Asoka, now angered beyond measure, kills Susima and all his half-brothers (except Sugrata, who escapes and seeks asylum in Kalinga). Asoka is anointed Emperor but carries the title of Chanda Asoka (Brutal Asoka). Meanwhile, Devi, bent on swaying Asoka to peaceful ways, is shocked at this unbridled brutality and keeps on pushing him to adopt a gentler path.

A few months later, Princess Kaurwaki and Prince Arya return to Kalinga with Bheema and through a dramatic turn of events, have the Prime Minister executed for treason. Prince Arya ascends the throne but the celebrations are short-lived as Asoka declares war on the kingdom after they give shelter to his half-brother Sugrata. Kaurwaki still does not know that Asoka is Pawan and they prepare for war.

Consumed with rage toward Sugrata and Kalinga, Asoka nearly kills Viraat who begs him to stop the carnage and a terrible war is fought in Kalinga. The Magadha army suffers defeat initially but the tide turns and the Magadha army inflicts a cruel defeat on Kalinga. Not content with mere victory, Asoka's warriors raze everything and butcher everyone in sight. Sugrata is slain, as is Bheema, while Kaurwaki is wounded. In his chambers that evening, Asoka is informed by his brother Vitasoka (Madhu Varshitt), who has taken up Buddhism, that Devi has delivered twins, Mahindra and Sanghamitra. Asoka visits the scene of the battlefield, where he suddenly discovers his horse who was supposed to be in Kaurwaki's possession. With a sudden surge of hope, he frantically searches for Kaurwaki. Asoka manages to find her in the battlefield where he has a heart-to-heart talk. He apologizes deeply for his actions but is interrupted by prince Arya who is dying after being shot by several arrows. With Arya dying in his arms, Asoka suddenly finds his victory empty. In his attempt to fulfill his goals, he realises that he only managed to be surrounded with more death. His enemies, his family, and even Arya, all dead, because of him. His grandfather's advice (about the sword) was right.

The film ends with Asoka throwing the sword at the same spot his grandfather had thrown it and embracing Buddhism. The final narrative describes how Asoka not only built a large empire, but spread Buddhism and the winds of peace through it.

Plot

The film tells the story of a young man named Anand (Salman Khan), who was deeply in love with a girl named Maya (Rimi Sen), who was intentionally thrown into a swimming pool by her fiance for the sake of getting back at her pranks. Apparently, she drowned. After Maya's death, Anand's life is completely shattered and he becomes insane.

He is brought to Sir Richard's Mental Sanatorium. His brother requests the doctors to admit him immediately. However, they insist on evaluating his mental condition before taking any decision. On being asked a few questions, Anand does not show any signs of insanity, and the doctors conclude that there is nothing wrong with him. They decline to admit him to the hospital. Just then, Anand spots a housefly on the table. He first tries to capture it in his palm, but it evades him. While Anand's elder brother is arguing with doctors to admit him, Anand suddenly becomes very violent, picking up a club and using it to hit everything the fly lands on. He finally manages to kill the fly. This convinces the doctors that he is indeed insane, and they finally agree to admit him.

Anand is admitted to Sir Richard's Mental Sanatorium, where he tries to makes friends with other inmates. One of them claims to have bought the Taj Mahal, another claims to have a tree growing sweets, and so on. This sets the scene for the entry of the chief doctor, Dr. Khurana (Om Puri). Dr Khurana is livid that a nurse had come into the operation theatre even though he had forbidden it. He yells at the matron and refuses to accept an explanation for the action of the nurse.

At the mental asylum, there are also other two main doctors, Dr. Sunil (Jackie Shroff) and Dr. Tanvi Khurana (Kareena Kapoor), Dr. Khurana's daughter.

Sunil turns out to be Anand's close childhood friend. Anand makes a commotion every day and behaves like a child. This upsets Tanvi and she almost removes Anand from the asylum. One day when she finds out about his past, she feels bad for him. She apologizes to him and starts spending time with him. They soon become good friends and she falls in love with him. Tanvi starts to help cure him and one day he is completely cured. He is normal now, and remembers everything. Anand decides to leave the asylum. As soon as Tanvi finds out, she runs to Anand and expresses her love to him. He is surprised, but he appreciates her love and decides to stay. He falls in love with Tanvi too. They both are happy with each other.But there is a problem: Tanvi is engaged to someone by the name of Karan (Sunil Shetty).

When Tanvi's father, Dr. Khurana finds out about her love for Anand he is angered. He tells Tanvi to forget about Anand and leave him. Tanvi refuses, and continues to love Anand. At that time Karan comes back to India. At first, Karan is unaware of Tanvi and Anand's love for each other. When Karan finds out, he tells Tanvi to go and live with Anand. Meanwhile, at the asylum Anand explodes into a violent rage against Dr. Khurana, which results in him being lobotomized by Khurana. Sunil and Tanvi arrive at the asylum in order to smuggle Anand out so that he and Tanvi can run away together, but it is too late as Sunil finds out about Anand being lobotomized. Realising that Anand is much better off dead, Sunil kills his neurologically disabled friend by suffocating him with a pillow. A concluding scene is shown in which Tanvi is now a patient at the asylum and has become insane and mentally unbalanced due to the shock of Anand's death. Tanvi is shown wearing the same patient number shirt that Anand was wearing when he was mentally ill.
