Plot
Chiranjeevi(Sekhar) is Vankayala’s grandson who spends time by playing guitar and flirting with girls. Parvati(Madhavi) is daughter of his neighbour. Sekhar flirts with a girl who repairs his guitar and teaches him how to play it. He also acts as if he loves Rukmini(Pallavi), who is daughter of Raghavaiah(Rallapalli). Parvati hates Sekhar and his behaviour and always tries to avoid him. Satyam(Narayanarao) and his family likes Parvati and fixes engagement with her family. Out of curiosity to meet Parvati, Satyam comes to her home on some reasons but unable to directly talk to her, writes a letter requesting her to come and meet him in backyard at night if she loves him, else he will break engagement. Parvati comes to meet him, where she is seduced. This continues for second night too, but Parvati is shocked when Satyam throws torch light on her and she finds herself in arms of Sekhar. Satyam is heart broken and leaves her. Later Sekhar reveals to Satyam that, he wrote that letter as Satyam and trapped Parvati. Now this is revealed to both families and satyam’s parents decide to break engagement. Sekhar reveals that Parvati rejected him many times, so he took his revenge and now is willing to marry her to save her reputation. Raghavaiah tries to get his daughter Rukmini married to Satyam but she opposes by revealing that she loves Sekhar and he won’t cheat on her. But later when she understands how Sekhar trapped Parvati, she writes a letter to him, asking to meet at same place that night and reveals herself with him to Parvati, showing his true colors. Sekhar continues his playboy attitude and even tries to seduce washerwoman in that area and is insulted by her. In order to take his revenge, he tries to rape her but she gets injured and he flees from there. Washerwoman’s father (P.L.Narayana) decides to take revenge on Sekhar by killing him when he dons Puli Vesham at Navaratri. Parvati feels that its injustice to marry a cheater and rapist. So, she kills him when he tries to rape Rukmini. Sekhar dies in front of everyone during Navaratri festival and parvati surrenders herself to police. Satyam reveals his love towards her and says that he will wait till she is released. Chiranjeevi excels as a playboy who is arrogant and carries with ease his negative shades character.
